The Sikho Kamao Scheme, the flagship initiative of the Madhya Pradesh government, has received an astonishing amount of interest from both youths and companies. An incredible 5 lakh plus youth have registered on the scheme's portal since its launch.

GN Agrawal, the Additional Director of the Directorate of Skill Development, stated that the response has been overwhelming and that the scheme will greatly increase employability of all the beneficiaries.

As of 6.34 PM on Tuesday, 12, 430 establishments have registered under the scheme, with 650 of them from 24 different states and union territories. Moreover, a total of 5,23,788 candidates have registered for the scheme, with 50,791 vacancies to fill.

Officials from the scheme are now encouraging companies to increase the number of vacancies if possible. The scheme is not only beneficial for youths, but also for the companies themselves, as they will not have to bear the full cost of training their new, young employees.

On the very first day of the scheme's portal launch, 60,000 students registered for the scheme. In a mere 20 days, the number shot up to a staggering 5,10,064.

The scheme is offering over 750 courses under four categories, which will help turn youths into a skilled force. Haryana has the most number of companies registered under the scheme, offering 751 vacancies, with Maharashtra coming in second with 75%.

The state government is offering a 75% honorarium to trainees, while the remaining 25% must be borne by the company in question. The training under this scheme will begin on August 1st.
