The Shivaji Park Police in Dadar have registered a case against four members of the Shiv Sena functionary on charges of molestation, a day after the memorial event of Bal Thackeray in Shivaji Park.
Three women have now come forward and submitted a written complaint to the police alleging that an MLA from the Shiv Sena, Eknath Shinde, had molested one of them. According to the complainant, the accused pulled and pushed her and other women while they were peacefully attending the memorial event.
The police have taken action against at least sixty unregistered people for rioting and other offences. Leaders of the UBT Shiv Sena have further alleged that two of their female workers were manhandled by Shinde workers on Tuesday.
Vishakha Raut, former mayor of BMC and leader of the UBT Shiv Sena, said, "We were all quiet and didn't want to create any kind of problem, as it was a big day for us. But they wanted it, and they created issues. After the clash, she joined hands with him and registered a complaint without any evidence or proof."
Raut further added that the police have asked them to come back tomorrow and submit their FIR. The leader also mentioned that if the police refuse to take the FIR, they will protest outside the station. Raut also alleged that the FIR is a planned thing to cause problems and the biasness is clearly visible.
The police have stated that in the FIR that has been registered on Tuesday, no arrests or summons have been made yet and the investigation is still underway.
