2 Madras Regiment Ex-Servicemen Hold 3rd Annual Reunion

Chettalli, Oct. 8: The 3rd annual get-together and felicitation ceremony for ex-servicemen of the 2 Madras Regiment—organized by 'Kodagu Gundas'—was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Maitri Police Hall in Madikeri. The event served as a testament to the spirit of service to the nation, the camaraderie among veterans, and the unity of their families.

The event was held under the leadership of Allaranda Kaverappa, Honorary Advisor of Kodagu Gundas, and was attended by ex-servicemen, their families, and invited dignitaries. The proceedings began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a prayer.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. Ex-serviceman Tambukuttira Gappu Somayya delivered the welcome address.

Two individuals were felicitated with mementos: Paradanda Arun, a former soldier currently serving as a Range Forest Officer (RFO) in the Forest Department; and Kottukattira Somanna, the former President and current Honorary President of the Akhila Karnataka Ex-Servicemen's Association.

On this occasion, five senior ex-servicemen and their spouses were also felicitated and honored on stage. Nachappa, Mani, Chennakeshava, Nangaru Basavaraju, and Mallesh are the senior ex-servicemen who were felicitated.
